Our unique programmes allow each child to reach their fullest potential in low ratio nurturing classroom environments. We provide children with the time, space and support to explore developmental areas in speech and language, socialization and communication to help with putting that first foot firmly towards happiness and confidence. Social Plus is a small class that supports your child to practice using spoken language appropriately with their friends in a fun, supportive and engaging setting. The class aims to improve all children’s foundation social skills, language levels and develop fundamental educational and play abilities.

Social plus is led by an experienced Speech and Language Therapist and early years teacher, offering a low therapist/teacher to child ratio; thus allowing targeted support to be provided throughout the sessions. There will be no more than 6 children per class.

This class is ideal for children who require social stimulation and/or who would benefit from some support and strategies to increase their confidence and social skills. It is an engaging class using role-playing, stories, themes, and fun activities to support and engage your child with practicing the following skills for them to use in their everyday world of home and school:

  • social greetings
  • awareness of others
  • eye contact
  • interaction with peers
  • turn taking and waiting
  • play skills

We encourage parent participation during the last 30 minutes of class for the first and last sessions so you can support your child and learn about strategies and activities to use at home. We will provide a home activity each week to continue to support your child's ongoing development.

Description

Speech Plus is a small class that supports your child to develop a range of skills, leading to the development of their speech sounds. The class is designed for children who are experiencing any speech sound delays or disorders, as well as children experiencing difficulty saying different sounds in any language.

Speech plus is led by an experienced Speech and Language Therapist and early years teacher, offering a low therapist/teacher to child ratio; thus allowing targeted support to be provided throughout the sessions. There will be no more than 6 children per class.

We use interactive and engaging play based activities to encourage listening and speaking skills; all children develop their ability to hear sounds and parts of words as they develop accurate speech.

The class aims to:

  • Develop attention and listening skills in a group environment
  • Develop auditory discrimination skills. For example, being able to distinguish one sound from another
  • Develop phonological awareness skills. For example, rhyme skills
  • Develop child’s speech and sound system

We encourage parent participation during the last 30 minutes of class for the first and last sessions so you can support your child and learn about strategies and activities to use at home. We will provide a home activity each week to continue to support your child's ongoing development.
